NORI Bake..Healthy, Organic and 100% Natural

When I think of adding seaweed to my food I have to admit I think gulps of sea water when I am swimming!!  However I was more than pleasantly surprised with NORI bake!   If you use the right amount in your recipes you do not taste it and the kids will not even notice you added it!

NORI bake is a superfood in the form of a powder that can be added to our food in many, many ways.   I have added it to several different recipes and even to chocolate brownies for a family celebration!!!

My fussy 7 year old didn't even notice when I added it to our usual "breakfast buns" as I call them.   They are made from a cup of flour, a cup of porridge oats, a cup of dessicated coconut, a tablespoon of chia seeds, an eighth cup of sugar (or less), 6 oz butter and of course now some NORI bake!  They are the standard breakfast for my two sons in our house as they are nutritious and balanced and neither of them complain about breakfasts in the morning!

Why NORI and what is it?

NORI is a nutrient rich food containing 8 different varieties of seaweed.  Some of the nutrients include Iodine, Madnesium, Calcium, Iron, Zinc and vitamins B12 and B3.

It can be difficult at times to get foods with these nutrients in them that children will eat, especially if you have fussy eaters.   NORI can be added to any of your baking including fairy cakes and breads!  It also has the added advantage of keeping bread fresher when it is included and it keeps you fuller for longer.

I love my smoothies and healthy drinks and am always looking for products to add to them, to make them even healthier and to keep me fuller longer.   My blood sugar drops if I do not eat regularly so snacking is something I do a lot of!   If I can make my snacks healthier and keep me fuller then I am happy!

I do not always follow recipes and love adding what I have to drinks.  On the picture on the right you can see that  I added NORI to coconut water and whatever fruit I had in the fruit bowl which on this occasion was apples and oranges!  Delicious.

Another good reason to use NORI in your cooking is that you can reduce the sugar in the recipe when it is added.  Also you can use NORI as a healthy replacement for salt.

Another way I used NORI was to add a teaspoon to my Granola and yoghurt breakfast!

This  wonderful product gets a definite thumbs up from me.  The same company also make delicious SMRT bars which also contain seaweed.   You can catch my review of those bars here.

You can check out NORI here too.
