I was awarded the prestigous honour of being Brand Ambassador for the wonderful craft, fashion and art shop that is Lucy Erridge at the recent #DestinationAdare style tour.

Nestled in a 200-year-old thatched cottage on the main street in Adare you are greeted with a delightful burst of colour from the garden on your arrival.

Lucy who trained at the Royal College of Art in London set up her own knitwear business here in Ireland 30 years ago and now designs for her own shop, decorating luxurious fibers with silks and Irish tweeds.

The choice of crafts is endless in this shop from watercolors, hand embroideries, original prints and notecards, cups, painted glass and a newly added menswear department.

Local lady Mary Liston creates works of art in a needle felting technique using merino wool, silk, and combined fabrics.   Each piece is unique and some have hand applied beading.   She also makes a range of handmade fabric brooches exclusively for Lucy's store.  (See the video for my favourite one!).

The hand-painted glass pieces on display are designed by Liz Malone, a local artist who has been painting glass for several years and who has turned her passion into a successful career.

Another local who designs exclusive artwork for the shop is Gerardine O'Leary who finds her inspiration for her watercolor painting from the rugged landscapes of the south of Ireland.

Lucy Erridge, Crafts, Fashion & Art is an oasis in the beautiful town of Adare and definitely worth a visit for unique gifts from Ireland or for an exclusive piece of clothing.

The clothes for sale at Lucy Erridge, Crafts, Fashion & Art are extremely comfortable but, have a luxurious feel about them, being made from materials such as cashmere or the very soft alpaca.  If you are looking for a "one of kind" piece then this shop is for you.

And, if you are looking for accessories to match your unique piece then just ask one of the helpful staff who are more than happy to match up your outfit with matching scarves, gloves, handbags or jewellery.

This shop is a true gem and well worth a visit.
