My 2019 Year in Review

I have spent many years on the journey of finding my voice both in my personal life and in my business life.   Along that journey there were many mindset issues to deal with and limiting beliefs to be transcended.    A common way for me to deal with issues around my personal power in the past had been to get overwhelmed at a certain point and give up because of this overwhelm.    This is quite a common dilemma faced by people when they are not standing in their own power and are stuck in a rut with a certain aspect of their lives.   Overwhelm keeps us small and in our comfort zone, feeling like an outsider peering in a window where everyone else seems to have it all.

My 2019 Vision

At the beginning of 2019 I had a vision to make my business work but because I wear a lot of hats, I wasn’t clear on which one to move forward with and to put most of my energy into.   I am an author, a podcaster, a coach, a speaker, a therapist, I run a Twitter community, I have run on line Summits and the list goes on.     I love each and everything I do and a similar thread weaves through them and that is empowerment.     My books and podcast are both channels to empowerment.   Through my Twitter community I empower people to find their story and share it and I share empowering people’s stories through my Summits.

However, a lack of clarity around a niche made me “jack of all trades and master of none”.    I have an ability to help others find their own story but as is quite common, an inability to find my own personal clarity.  So, I practiced what I preach and in 2019 I found myself a supportive community in order to get clarity on my own offerings.   I have been following Sigrun for a couple of years now and knew eventually I would take the plunge and join her community.  It was a big investment in myself as an entrepreneur and one that I had mused over for a while.   The time was right and I was tired off putting up with the way things were and wanted to thrive in my business in a focused way without the dreaded overwhelm swallowing me up in the process.

Trusting the process

I started with Sigrun in June 2019 and immediately jumped into the Somba Summer School challenge.  To start this process I wanted to come up with a title which best described what I do .. Yes I am a Clarity Coach who needed her own clarity!   But that’s ok and it’s always ok to admit where you struggle.    I jumped on a Hot Seat call where you get the chance to do a one on one with Sigrun and tease out the challenge.    After this, and with my newly found clarity I set about creating my best ever on line course.    I took 15 people on a transformational journey through my Business Clarity Coaching programme.   I had help each step of the way with Sigrun and the community and the process was mapped out and all that was required for me was to trust the process that was already there!

My biggest transformation

My biggest transformation in seeing this programme through was that when overwhelm raised it’s head and I didn’t want to annoy people by following up with them I had the support of the group to help me realise that her process does work if you have faith in it.  Following up with people is necessary but I would often give up at this point.

This is something I also cover in my Business Clarity Coaching, we dig deep finding the beliefs that hold us back and if like me one of your beliefs is that you don’t like annoying people as they may not want to hear what you have to say, then you have the chance to change that belief to one that serves your business better i.e. these people signed up for your course because they wanted to hear what you had to say!!!

The one good thing about email marketing and social media is that people can unsubscribe and unfollow if they are not resonating with you. With my new found confidence I also nurture my email list on a weekly basis.

As a business owner we only want to work with people who resonate with us and the way we work.  For example, there are many, many coaches in the world but finding the one you resonate with and building a relationship with them is the best way to find the one you will work with.

So I begin 2020 looking back on 2019 as the year when I found the strength to believe in me and my business and had the courage to find someone who I knew I resonated with and to trust her tried and trusted process.

It’s in the looking back we realise how far we have come and makes us realise that the future, which has yet to be formed is one that we get to mould … if we trust the process and have faith in ourselves to take a leap of faith and find the support we need to get us there.
