Re-Purposing content

How one piece of writing can be turned into many, many chunks of content.

As an example I am taking this article I wrote about for my blog on Self-Talk.   As a Women’s Empowerment Coach, I work a lot with values and help people zone in on their value systems.

I have a blog, a podcast, and several different platforms I share on as well as a weekly inspirational, empowering newsletter.   So, when it comes to writing content, I write one good blog on a particular topic and use this to produce different types of content.

For example, my topic this week was about our self-talk.   I wrote a blog on this topic with some exercises for people to do to check and see how their self-talk is!   I turned this blog into a new podcast episode for my Women’s Empowerment Podcast as many people, including myself prefer audio!

I also wrote about self-talk for my email list as the subject was in my head and fresh.    I shared a link to my podcast in the email as a way for people to get further information.

I did an infographic in Canva which outlined the 5 exercises I had suggested in my blog post and this was shared on LinkedIn and Instagram.  I have a LinkTree Link in my Instagram account which directs people to my podcast and my blog so I can link either in my Instagram story and post. For my Instagram story I can also use the infographic I have created.

I also shared my blog as an article on Linked In.

I have the ability on my wordpress site to use Twitter Cards so that I can pick whichever graphic I want to show up on my Twitter feed.  I have a designed a template on Canva and I just change the heading each week to create consistency.

I have content created for a full week on this one blog spread out over different platforms and it takes a lot less time to create them all in advance as the information is fresh in my mind.

AND I will also do a Facebook Live later in the week talking about the same topic.  Not everyone is on my email list, nor is connected to me on Instagram and Linked In so it’s a great way to re-purpose one blog post on various different platforms.

Plus I got to write about this for you here on my business site!
